Kimchi-Bokkeumbap from the BTS Recipe Book (How to Cook It)
By Bokki Curator
Day-old rice, sour kimchi, a hot pan — the fried-rice method, then the 2022 book and 2020 FESTA cites.

TL;DR
The official BTS Recipe Book: Book of Tasty Stories (2022) includes kimchi-bokkeumbap in its simple-dishes chapter, with janchi-guksu and budae-jjigae. Suga’s 2020 FESTA kimchi-bokkeumbap is a separate, sourced mention. This page is the pan method.
Day-old rice. Sour kimchi. A hot pan. Method: /recipes/kimchi-bokkeumbap-classic. Age the kimchi first: https://kimchee.ai/blog/kimchi-jjigae-vs-bokkeumbap-progression.
The pan: 2 cups day-old rice; 1 cup chopped well-fermented kimchi plus a spoon of the brine; 1 teaspoon gochujang if the kimchi is mild; neutral oil; one egg; gim; sesame. Cook the kimchi in oil until the edges darken. Add rice. Press. Flip. Egg on top.
The official BTS Recipe Book: Book of Tasty Stories (2022) puts kimchi-bokkeumbap in the simple chapter, next to janchi-guksu and budae-jjigae. Lifestyle Asia wrote that up. Yonhap (28 July 2022) listed 15 on-camera dishes in the book. We did not reprint their pages and we do not quote the recipe text.
Suga’s 2020 FESTA kimchi-bokkeumbap is a different cite (Koreaboo: what members know how to cook). Two sources. One dish. We are not selling the book. We are not calling this Jin’s or Suga’s official recipe. We are teaching the dish the book named.
